For seafood lovers, this time I'd like to share a recipe for steamed grouper fish that's so delicious it'll make you forget your relatives.
Ingredients
- Grouper fish - 16 oz
- Salt and ground pepper - a little
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Spring onions - 4 stalks
- Ginger - 1 oz (peeled)
- Fresh chili - 1 piece
Method - Step by step
1. Cut the grouper fish lengthwise and remove the thin membrane on the skin. After washing thoroughly until clean, cut it into moderate-sized pieces.
2. Then, rub the grouper fish evenly with salt, ground pepper, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for about 5 to 10 minutes.
3. Cut the spring onions into 2-inch lengths. Slice the ginger thinly into strips. Also slice the chili thinly.
4. Arrange about two-thirds of the spring onions and ginger in rows in a heat-resistant bowl. Then place the grouper fish on top. Cover the grouper fish with the fresh chili and the remaining ginger and spring onions on top.
5. If using a bamboo steamer, there's no need to cover the bowl. If using an electric steamer, cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Then place it in the steamer and steam for about 6 to 8 minutes.
6. Once the time is up, drizzle a little fish sauce on top. Sprinkle a bit of salt and ground pepper as well.
And there you have it - a fragrant and flavorful steamed grouper fish dish, ready to enjoy.
