Hello everyone! For those who love international cuisine, this time I'd like to share a recipe for a Vietnamese-style beef and potato stir-fry dish.
Ingredients
- 9 oz beef (thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon thinly sliced garlic
- Olive oil, salt, and ground black pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 potatoes (peeled)
- 1 onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 tomato
- 4 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce and 1 teaspoon fish sauce
- 2 stalks spring onion (cut into 2-inch lengths)
Step-by-step instructions
1. In a bowl, combine the beef, 1 teaspoon of garlic, salt, ground pepper, 1 teaspoon of oil, and 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch, then mix thoroughly.
2. Slice the potatoes thinly. Cut the tomato into medium-sized pieces.
3. Heat the wok and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add the potatoes and stir-fry for 10 seconds. Then add 1 teaspoon of garlic.
4. Next, add about 4 tablespoons of water and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the potatoes soften. Then add the onions and fry for about 30 seconds. Add the tomato and stir for about 2 minutes.
5. Once the tomatoes have softened, add 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of oyster sauce. Then transfer to a plate.
6. After cleaning the wok, add a little oil. Add the remaining garlic and sauté until fragrant. Then add the beef and fry until about 80% cooked.
7. Then add the fried potatoes from earlier. Add the fish sauce and stir-fry thoroughly. Sprinkle with salt and ground pepper, then remove from the heat. For those who like spring onions, sprinkle some spring onions on top.
And there you have it — a delicious beef and potato stir-fry dish!
