Hello everyone! This time, I'd like to share a recipe for pork cutlet made with a Japanese sauce called Tonkatsu.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 4 tablespoons of wheat flour
- A little salt and pepper
- 24 tablespoons of panko breadcrumbs
- About 4 large pieces of pork
- Vegetable oil for frying
Ingredients needed to make the sauce
- 8 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
- 4 tablespoons of white wine
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 clove of garlic (peeled and finely minced)
- 1/4 teaspoon of thinly sliced ginger
- 1 teaspoon of five-spice powder
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
Step-by-step instructions
1. In one bowl, beat the eggs well. In another bowl, mix the wheat flour, salt, and pepper evenly. In a third bowl, prepare the panko breadcrumbs.
Coat the pork cutlets with the wheat flour. Then dip them into the beaten eggs. After that, coat them with the breadcrumbs.
2. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit).
3. Heat a pan and add oil. Then add the pork cutlets and fry for about 2 to 4 minutes. Then flip them over and fry for another 2 to 4 minutes.
Place the fried pork cutlets onto a tray to put into the oven. Then put them in the oven and bake for about 7 to 20 minutes.
4. At this time, prepare the sauce.
In a small pot, combine all the ingredients needed for the sauce and bring to a boil for about 5 minutes.
5. Once the time is up, remove the pork cutlets from the oven and slice them into medium-thick pieces. Then drizzle the sauce prepared earlier over the pork.
And there you have it — a delicious Japanese-style pork cutlet dish is ready.
