Hello everyone. I'd like to share how to prepare a steamed fish curry dish that's incredibly delicious with tender, soft flesh.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz of your preferred type of fish
  • 2 teaspoons of sesame oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon each of salt and ground pepper
  • 1 piece of ginger about 1.5 inches around (peel and slice thinly into strips)
  • 1 onion (thinly sliced)

  • Half a carrot (thinly sliced into strips)
  • 5 stalks of spring onion (thinly sliced lengthwise like the carrot)

Ingredients needed for the sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
  • Half a teaspoon of finely chopped ginger
  • 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of fish sauce

  • 1/8 teaspoon each of salt and ground pepper

Step-by-step instructions

1. Put the fish into a bowl and marinate it with sesame oil, salt, and ground pepper.

2. To make the sauce, heat a pot and add olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the onions and garlic and sauté until fragrant. Then add the ginger. Add fish sauce, ground pepper, and salt, and cook until it comes to a boil.

Then transfer it into a bowl.

3. Prepare the steamer in advance. Cover the fish bowl with foil, place it into the steamer, and steam for about 8 to 9 minutes.

4. Once the set time is up, remove the foil covering. Pour the prepared sauce over the steamed fish. Add the carrot, ginger, garlic, and spring onion, then steam for another 4 to 6 minutes. (No need to cover with foil again.)

Once the set time is up, you'll have a perfectly fragrant and flavorful steamed fish curry ready to enjoy.
