Hello everyone! For those who say food tastes better with a nice hot, spicy soup while eating rice, I want to share an easy, simple, and delicious way to make spicy bean sprout soup.

Ingredients

  • Bean sprouts - 1 viss
  • Dried red anchovies - 8 pieces (heads and dirt removed)
  • Water - 2 liters
  • Garlic - 4 cloves (thinly sliced)
  • Onion - 2 bulbs (thinly sliced)

  • Chili powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon and fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 2 teaspoons
  • Spring onions - 2 stalks (cut diagonally)
  • Sesame oil - 2 teaspoons and sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons

Step-by-step preparation method

1. Put the dried red anchovies into a small clean bag, like a tea bag.

2. Put the bean sprouts into a pot. Add the water, the bag of anchovies, garlic, onion, chili powder, soy sauce, and fish sauce, then stir well to mix everything evenly.

3. Then cover with a lid and let it simmer over medium heat for about 30 minutes.

Once it starts boiling, take out the anchovy bag and remove it.

4. After tasting for saltiness and mildness, you can add a little more salt if needed. Then add the spring onions and let it simmer for about one more minute.

After taking it off the stove, add sesame oil and stir it in for a nice aroma.

And there you have it - a delicious, spicy bean sprout soup. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on just before serving the soup.
