Hello everyone! This time, I'd like to share with wonton lovers a recipe for making spicy steamed pork wontons.
Ingredients
- 36 wonton wheat wrappers
- 0.5 lb pork (finely minced)
- 1 tablespoon thinly sliced spring onion
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- A little sugar, salt and ground pepper
- 2 tablespoons water
Ingredients needed to make the chili sauce
- 2 cloves garlic (finely minced)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce and 2 teaspoons vinegar
- 5 tablespoons chili oil and 2 tablespoons fried chili flakes
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 stalks spring onion (thinly sliced)
Step-by-step instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the minced pork, spring onion, sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, sugar, ground pepper and water, then knead until well combined.
2. As the second step, wrap the resulting filling into the wonton wheat wrappers. There are two ways of folding wontons, and readers can choose whichever method they prefer.
Method (1)
Wet your fingertips and moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper. Place about half a tablespoon of filling in the center of the wrapper. Then fold it as shown in the picture.
Method (2)
Method (2) is similar to the method described earlier. Simply wet the edges of the wonton wrapper, add the filling, and fold it as shown in the picture.
3. Place the finished wontons in a tray and refrigerate them. However, make sure to keep the wontons separated so they don't stick together.
4. Next, fill a pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add the wontons and boil for a few minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent them from sticking to the pot. Once the wontons float to the surface, you can take them out.
5. To make the chili sauce, mix all the required ingredients together thoroughly. Then pour it over the boiled wontons. Finally, sprinkle a little spring onion on top for garnish.
And there you have it—delicious, spicy steamed pork wontons!
