Hello everyone! This time, I'd like to share an easy recipe for delicious, tasty fried lentil balls (Para Kyaw).
Ingredients
- 1 shallot (finely sliced)
- About 8 tablespoons of coriander (finely chopped)
- 2 green chilies (thinly sliced)
- Salt and oil, a little
- 18 tablespoons of split peas (dal)
- 4 dried red chilies
Step-by-Step Method
1. In a large bowl, add the split peas and pour in water until they are fully submerged. Then soak for about 3 hours.
2. Once fully soaked for the set time, drain the split peas using a strainer.
3. Then put them into a grinder and grind until it becomes a paste.
4. Next, add the dried chilies into the grinder and grind again until it becomes a paste.
5. Put the ground split pea paste into a large bowl.
6. Add the shallots, coriander, green chilies, and salt, then knead until well combined.
7. After that, shape into small, evenly-sized balls and arrange them on a plate, ready for frying.
8. Heat a pot and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add the shaped pea balls and fry until they turn golden brown. (This will take about 5 to 6 minutes.)
Once everything is fried, you'll have delicious fried lentil balls ready to enjoy.
