Hello everyone! I'd like to share a recipe for making a chocolate cake with a pool of chocolate sauce right in the center.
Ingredients
- Butter 8 tablespoons
- Small chocolate chips/pieces 6 oz
- 2 eggs and 2 egg yolks
- Sugar 4 tablespoons
- Salt 1/4 teaspoon
- Vanilla 1 teaspoon
- Flour 3 tablespoons
Step-by-step instructions
1. Grease the small cake baking cups/ramekins with butter, then dust lightly with a little flour.
2. Place the chocolate and butter together in a large bowl.
Pour a cup of water into a small pot and heat it. Place the bowl with the chocolate on top of the pot, and stir until the chocolate and butter have completely melted.
Once melted, carefully remove it from the pot.
3. In another bowl, add the 2 eggs, 2 egg yolks, sugar, and salt, then beat on high speed with an electric mixer for about 5 minutes.
4. Once the egg mixture becomes thick like cream and turns a pale yellow color, pour in the melted chocolate mixture from earlier. Add the vanilla and mix until well combined. Then add about 3 tablespoons of flour and fold in until evenly combined.
5. Divide the resulting chocolate batter evenly into the small cake cups/ramekins, then place them in an oven preheated to 450 degrees and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes.
6. Once the time is up, let it cool for about 1 hour.
And there you have it — a delicious chocolate cake with a pool of chocolate sauce hidden inside.
It goes extremely well when paired with ice cream.
