Hello everyone! For those who love spicy, tangy dishes, this time I want to share a recipe for a mouth-watering spicy pork and tofu curry.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic (finely sliced)
- 1 teaspoon finely sliced ginger
- 8 oz pork (or chicken, or beef), cut into small half-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and half a teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 onion (cut into half-inch pieces) and 8 stalks of spring onion (cut into half-inch lengths)
- 2 chili peppers (thinly sliced) and 2 tablespoons chili paste (ngayone-hnyat)
- Chicken broth or beef broth (20 tablespoons)
- 1 lb tofu (cut into half-inch pieces)
- 1 tablespoon corn starch and 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Step-by-step instructions
1. Heat the pot, then add the vegetable oil. Add the garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 1 to 2 minutes.
2. Next, add the pork (or beef, or chicken). Add salt and ground pepper, and stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
3. Add the chili powder and stir-fry for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the spring onion, chili peppers, and onion, and fry for about 1 minute.
5. Add the soybean sauce and chili paste.
6. Add the chicken broth or beef broth and bring to a boil for about 2 minutes. (Set aside about 4 tablespoons of the broth)
7. Then add the small tofu pieces and fry for about 3 to 4 minutes without letting the tofu break apart.
8. While the tofu is frying, mix the corn starch and 4 tablespoons of the reserved broth together in a small bowl until smooth. Then add it into the pot and stir-fry.
7. Once the tofu curry's sauce has thickened, you can remove it from the stove. Add sesame oil and enjoy it deliciously.
