Hello everyone…. This pancake called Okonomiyaki, popular in Japan and enjoyed with various ingredients of your choice made into different variations, can be easily made at home.
Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- ¾ cup flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- Thinly sliced green cabbage
- Thinly sliced shallots
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha
- A little dried seaweed
Step-by-step cooking instructions
- Mix the eggs, water, and soy sauce in a large bowl. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until smooth. Mix in the cabbage and shallots as well.
- Heat oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add the cabbage mixture and spread it out. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the pan occasionally, until the bottom turns golden brown. Then flip it over.
- Meanwhile, mix the mayonnaise and Sriracha together in a small bowl.
- Place the Okonomiyaki on a plate. Drizzle the Sriracha-mayonnaise mixture over the top in a zigzag pattern. Garnish with sliced spring onions and seaweed, and enjoy!
