Hello everyone! This time, the dish I want to share is falafel balls, which are simple and easy to make and delicious.
Ingredients
- Chickpeas (or gram peas) 16 oz
- 1 onion (thinly sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 4 tablespoons wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- A little ground black pepper
- Oil for frying
Step-by-step method
1. Soak the chickpeas (or gram peas) in cold water overnight.
2. After soaking, bring them to a boil in a pot with clean water for about 5 minutes. Once 5 minutes have passed, reduce the heat and let them simmer on low heat for about an hour.
When the set time is up, remove the peas and let them cool for about 15 minutes.
3. Next, put the boiled peas into a bowl, add garlic, onion, coriander leaves, cumin powder, salt, and ground black pepper, then knead until well combined.
Then add the wheat flour and knead again until well mixed. If readers don't want to knead by hand, you can also put it in a food processor and blend it.
4. Shape the resulting dough into balls about the size of a ping pong ball.
5. Heat a pot and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add the shaped balls and fry for about 5 to 7 minutes.
Once fried to a golden brown color, remove from the hot oil and let cool.
Now you have delicious falafel balls ready to enjoy.
