The popular chicken bone broth is rich in nutrients such as collagen, gelatin, and glycine, and is one of the most nutritious foods available. It soothes the body's digestive system and can also be consumed for the health of the skin and joints. The method of making chicken bone broth is very easy and not difficult at all, so it can be made easily at home.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs chicken neck/feet/wings (bones from a whole chicken can also be used)
- 3 carrots, peeled and sliced.
- 3 stalks of celery, cut into pieces.
- 2 medium onions, peeled and cut lengthwise in half each.
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed.
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 bay leaves
- 18-20 cups cold water
Put all the ingredients into a large pot on the stove.
Add the vegetables. Add water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer on low heat. Simmer for 24-48 hours until the fat renders out. The longer cooking time enhances the flavor of the ingredients.
Once cooked, let it cool slightly. Strain the remaining contents through a sieve into a container. Cover and let it cool at room temperature.
If you freeze it in the freezer, it can be kept for up to 3 months.
