Hello everyone. The dish I want to share this time is Beijing-style spicy beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of beef (cut into medium-sized pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine
  • A little ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 2 tablespoons oyster sauce

  • 8 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 8 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 5 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
  • Half an onion (thinly sliced)
  • Half a red bell pepper (thinly sliced)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. In a large bowl, add the beef, soy sauce, cooking wine, and ground black pepper, and mix well.

2. In another small bowl, add the vinegar, ketchup, sugar, and oyster sauce, and mix well.

3. Heat a wok and add oil. Once the oil is hot, take the beef pieces one by one without the excess marinade, and fry them in the oil for about 6 to 7 minutes.

Transfer the fried beef to a plate.

4. If there is a lot of oil left in the wok, scoop the excess oil into a small bowl, leaving only about 2 tablespoons of oil in the wok.

5. Then add the garlic, onion, and red bell pepper to the hot oil and stir-fry for about a minute. Then pour in the sauce prepared in step (2) and let it simmer for about 30 seconds. Then add the fried beef and stir-fry until well combined.

Once everything is well combined, you'll have a delicious bowl of Beijing-style spicy beef.
