Hello everyone! This time, the dish I'd like to share is a recipe for beef stir-fried with Chinese water spinach leaves.
Ingredients
- 150 grams beef
- 150 grams Chinese water spinach (remove the leaves and stems, and cut the stems into about 1-inch lengths)
- A little oil
- 3 shallots (thinly sliced)
- 3 slices ginger (cut into thin strips)
- 2 cloves garlic (finely minced)
- 3 chili peppers (thinly sliced)
- Cornstarch slurry (mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch thoroughly with 1 tablespoon of water)
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and a pinch of ground white pepper
- 4 tablespoons water, 1/2 tablespoon light soy sauce, 1 teaspoon fish sauce, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, and 1/2 tablespoon cooking wine (mix together in a small bowl)
Step-by-step instructions
1. Cut the beef into medium-sized pieces. Then marinate with oyster sauce, sesame oil, and ground white pepper, mixing thoroughly, and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes up to overnight.
2. Heat a wok and add 1/2 tablespoon of oil. Then add the beef and stir-fry until about 70% cooked. Once done, transfer to a plate.
3. After cleaning the wok, add all the remaining oil. Add the shallots, garlic, ginger, and chili peppers, and stir-fry until fragrant.
4. Next, add the water spinach and stir-fry for about 1 to 2 minutes. Then pour in the soy sauce mixture that was mixed in the bowl. Add the cooked beef. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until it comes to a boil.
Once the beef is cooked and the sauce has thickened, you can remove it from the stove.
And there you have it - a delicious bowl of water spinach stir-fried with beef!
