Hello everyone! Even though you might want to eat something hot and crispy, don't feel discouraged if you don't have ingredients like squash or corn in your kitchen. If you have some onions and a little beer, you can make delicious beer-battered fried onion rings.

The beer batter helps keep the fried onion rings crispy even after they've cooled down.

Ingredients

  • 2 bowls of flour (32 tablespoons)
  • 2 teaspoons of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • Half a teaspoon of black pepper powder

  • 24 tablespoons of beer
  • 2 large onions
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Step-by-step Instructions

1. In a large bowl, add 24 tablespoons of flour along with the chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper powder, and mix well until combined. Then add the beer and mix until it becomes a thick batter. Let the resulting batter soak for about 10 minutes.

2. While the batter is soaking, peel the onions and cut them into rings. Then dust the remaining flour over the onion rings.

3. Heat a pot and add vegetable oil.

Once the oil is hot, dip the flour-dusted onion rings into the beer batter. Then place them into the hot oil and fry for about 3 minutes.

4. When the onion rings turn golden brown, transfer them onto a plate. Then immediately sprinkle a little salt over them.

Fry the remaining onion rings the same way and sprinkle with salt immediately as well.

Once all the onion rings are fried, you'll have delicious, crispy fried onion rings ready to enjoy.
