Hello everyone! This time, for those who love soups, I'd like to share the recipe for making pumpkin and pork ball soup.
Ingredients
- 2 liters of water
- 1 viss of pumpkin (peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 4 stalks of spring onion (cut into 2-inch lengths)
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
Ingredients needed to make the pork balls
- 1 viss of pork
- 3 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 3 cloves of garlic (peeled)
- 3 tablespoons of cooking oil
- Flour-water mixture (mix 2 tablespoons of flour with 4 tablespoons of water)
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
Step-by-step instructions
1. Cut the pork into small pieces and put it into a meat grinder. Add sugar, salt, fish sauce, ground black pepper, garlic, and oil, then grind for about 5 minutes.
2. Mix the baking powder into the flour-water mixture and stir well. Add this flour mixture into the ground pork mixture and grind again for about 5 minutes. Then transfer it into a bowl.
3. Pour 2 liters of water into a large pot and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.
Once the water is boiling vigorously, shape the previously mixed pork into small balls, add them into the water, and simmer over low heat for about 8 minutes.
4. Then add the pumpkin pieces and let it cook for about 3 to 4 minutes.
5. Then add sugar, fish sauce, and salt, and taste to adjust the seasoning to a light saltiness.
After turning off the heat, sprinkle the spring onions on top.
And there you have it — a delicious pumpkin and pork ball soup!
