Modern painters have a knack for transforming every object they see before their eyes into a masterful work of art. A girl named Anna Chojnicka is one such talented artist who has managed to create paintings on banana peels.

When she posted the banana paintings she created on Instagram and Twitter, she received a great deal of praise and admiration from people.

Where did Anna get the idea to paint on bananas? We'd like to share with our readers how she created these masterful paintings on bananas without using ink or any colors.

Deliberately Bruising the Bananas Black

Instead of using ink and colors in her artwork, she creates her paintings by deliberately bruising the banana peel.

How She Bruises the Bananas Black Through Damage

She leaves marks on the banana peel using a sharp object. In an interview, Anna explained that she doesn't pierce through the banana peel, but rather presses it gently. The more times she presses, the blacker the banana becomes.

To create different paintings, she first presses down on the parts she wants to be more black, then gradually presses the lighter shaded areas one by one.

How She Got the Idea

Anna had to stay home in March 2020 after falling ill. By the second week of March, she grew bored and weary of being isolated alone. One day, after lunch, she used a fork to scratch a drawing onto a banana peel here and there.

What she noticed was that the longer the scratched spot on the banana peel was left, the blacker it became. That's how she got the idea to paint on banana peels.

Drawing Inspiration from Various Sources for Her Paintings

She creates her masterful paintings by drawing inspiration from various different perspectives, such as cartoons, world-famous singers, songs, movies, and festivals.

The Hardest Part for Her

When it comes to painting on bananas like this, the hardest part for her is waiting for the right timing. Anna said that since any mistake made cannot be erased, being precise and accurate is the most important thing.

What Does She Do After Finishing a Banana Painting?

After finishing a painting, she takes a photo of it. Once she's photographed it, she either eats the banana right away, or if she doesn't feel like eating it, she keeps it for a few days and then makes it into various dishes so it tastes good. She has also shared that she doesn't want to waste food needlessly.
