The belief that food must be stored in the refrigerator to keep it fresh longer isn't always correct. While some fruits and vegetables should indeed be refrigerated, the following 4 foods should never be kept in the fridge.
Tomatoes
If you think tomatoes should be kept in the refrigerator to last longer, you'd be wrong. Tomatoes tend to lose their flavor when kept cold. When left at room temperature outside, tomatoes ripen more easily and become juicier and tastier.
Potatoes
When potatoes are stored in the refrigerator, the cold temperature converts the starch in the potatoes into sugar. As a result, the flavor of your dish will change.
The best place to store potatoes is somewhere dark and dry. If kept in a place that's too hot, your potatoes may release toxins.
Honey
Honey is a food that never spoils. It's enough to simply store it in an airtight container. Don't put it in the refrigerator.
Coffee
If you want to enjoy a fragrant, flavorful cup of coffee, don't store your coffee in the refrigerator. Keep it in an airtight glass container and avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
